Whether you are holed up for a couple of days due to bad weather or you just have a weekend with nothing to do, it is always better to have something fun on the back burner to occupy your time. Here are five really fun science experiments that will pass the time, and you won’t even miss that boring weekend television line up. Try them out for yourself.

1. Make Ivory Snow

All you have to do to get this cool result is put a simple bar of Ivory soap right into your microwave. The heat will cause the material to expand because the water content will get hot. Once the water ‘cooks off’ of the soap you will see bubbles begin to take shape. The soap will get soft and become easy to manipulate. It is important that you don’t use a microwave you are going to need in the future, because the smell of the soap is simply never going to come out!
